The Journey of Dante H Plata Photography
Dante H. Plata is a photographer whose work is a dedicated pursuit of peace and stillness. A U.S. Army veteran who served during the Vietnam conflict (1965–1968), Plata began his photographic journey in 2004, discovering the medium as a profound source of calm. His portfolio is a study in contrasts, capturing everything from the vibrant urban graffiti of Bogotá and Chicago to the delicate, natural hues of his own garden.
A multi-award winner, Plata has consistently earned top honors at the Capt. James A. Lovel and Hines VA Hospital Creative Arts Festivals, most recently sweeping first place in three categories in 2025. His work has been exhibited at the Brushwood Cultural Center at Ryerson Woods and the Tamale Hut Café, and is permanently displayed at Oak Gardens, a veteran housing community in Menlo Park, California.
